Louët has three different drum carders: the Junior, Standard and Electric drum carder. They are made of laminated birch and have a hard white coating. The drums of the carders are 19 cm (7 1/2″) wide, except for the drum of the Junior (10 cm (4″) wide). In order to ensure a long life, the teeth on all Louët carders are made of high grade plated steel wire. All gearboxes are enclosed to prevent fibres from entering the gear system.
The Standard Drum Carder is the same model we have been delivering for the past 20 years.
The Standard and Electric drum carders have a fine cloth of 46 teeth per square inch, so you can easily card wool and other coarse fibres.
This surface speed ratio is 9:1 for the Standard and Electric drum carder and 12:1 for the Standard and Junior drum carder
Doffer brush and doffer pin are included
The Standard and Junior drum carders have an extra fine cloth (72 teeth per square inch). The advantage of this extra fine cloth is that you also can perfectly card very fine fibres.

Louet sells two electric drum carders; the standard drum carder (72 teeth per square) and one with fine carding cloth (46 teeth per square ). The electric drum carder is suitable for all fibres and lends itself to effortless, two hand feeding. The carder comes complete with transparent plastic protection cover for safety, doffer brush and doffer pin.
