Fancy learning a new skill, making new friends, spending a day in beautiful Swaledale...then come and join us for a creative craft workshop. These workshops will be held in the Reeth Memorial Hall, just around the corner from The Threshing Barn. Courses will be led by Janet and assisted by Sara (who will also be providing a lovely selection of refreshments and lunches!)
Fri 3 June – Wet Felting – Swaledale inspired layered landscapes.
Thurs Aug 11 – Rag Rug – make summer garden picture or cushion panel.
Fri Aug 19 – Batik – The River Swale – A fanastic chance to learn this litttle taught skill.
Fri Sept 9 – Spinning for beginners – some wheels will be available to borrow.
Sat Sept 10– Tapestry Weaving. – Indian Inspired creative weaving.
Sat Oct 15 – Spinning Art Yarn – take your spinning oto a new craetive level
If none of these dates work for you then you can spend a day at The Threshing Barn for a one on one workshop you will need to phone or email us to book this. All attendees must be double vaccinated and had their booster and be willing to do a lateral flow test before arrival.
Have you ever fancied learning to spin, weave or make rugs? Well you’ve come to the right place here at The Threshing Barn. Janet runs craft courses tailored exactly to your needs and to suit exactly when you want to come. Her craft courses are arranged at times convenient to yourself.
We can do courses on: Spinning (Beginners and Art Yarns), Rigid Heddle Weaving, Felting (both wet and needle), Batik, Silk Painting, Rag Rugging and Acid Dyeing Yarn and Fibre.

Craft Courses run from 10 am – 4.30 pm.
The cost of a Basic Course is £85 per person, per day.
A 50% deposit is required with bookings. Deposits are non-refundable but your booking can be transferred with 7 days notice. School holiday and birthday party workshops are available for children. The Threshing Barn is a ground floor workshop available with access for people with disabilities. Basic materials are included in the cost of the workshop. Additional material costs are incurred on some craft course
