Craft Courses
Have you ever fancied learning to spin, weave or make rugs? Well you’ve come to the right place here at The Threshing Barn. I can run craft courses tailored exactly to your needs and to suit exactly when you want to come. My craft courses are arranged at times convenient to yourself. I am happy to travel to spinning, weaving and embroidery guilds to give talks, sales of crafts and to run workshops.
Craft Courses run from 10 am – 4.30 pm.
The cost of a Basic Course is £60 per person, per day. (Students £40, Children £35).
A 50% deposit is required with bookings. Deposits are non-refundable but your booking can be transferred with 7 days notice. School holiday and birthday party workshops are available for children. There is a ground floor workshop available with access for people with disabilities. Basic materials are included in the cost of the workshop. Additional material costs are incurred on some craft courses.
We run two types of spinning courses - one for beginners and one for more accomplished spinners
We offer a large variety of felt making courses at different levels using a selection of wools. which all produce different quality felt.
We hold a series of introductory weaving courses using a selection of weaving methods and materials. We have three courses to choose from.
Throw away the tinsel and flashing lights and make a selection of unique decorations using a variety of materials.
You will never throw away old blankets, bed sheets, woollen jumpers, tee-shirts, fleeces etc once you have been to this rug making courses.
On our batik painting courses, we paint wonderful atmospheric pictures in batik wax using tjanting tools from Indonesia.

Christmas trees

Beautiful packaging for parcels

Come and print your own Christmas wrapping paper and gift tags with our wooden printing blocks. Ply yarns with sparkly threads to make your own cords to tie up your parcels.
Vintage inspired woollen decorations

Christmas stockings

Keep your feet warm

I used to live in Hong Kong for 20 years and enjoy celebrating the new year. We will make Chinese silk papers incorporating Chinese paper cuts and silk threads. Cover glassware with silk threads to make candle containers.
Natural wool wall hanging
